We cracked open the fois gras today at lunch, which our house swappers left for us. Danielle thinks she doesn't like duck products, but Shea quite enjoyed it.
One of the most striking things about French grocery stores is the size of the dairy section, particularly the section with the yogurt and its relatives. Our new favourite thing is fromage blanc. This one was just a processed dessert from the grocery store with strawberries in the bottom - pretty sweet, but we could tell that we like fromage blanc. We've since eaten it a bunch of times.
Our big adventure for the day was an evening drive to a nearby suburb to go to Velizy2, a big, North American-style mall. It's not the sort of destination that we normally choose, but it gave us somewhere to drive to and it has a Printemps, which we had not yet been to. We also felt the need to do a test run of driving in France before picking up our rental car in Blois. It was a bit of a white knuckle drive as we had to get on a pretty big highway, and we've decided that French signage is not always ideal. One is bombarded with countless signs indicating various restrictions and when the exit sign appears the vital information was often obscured by tree branches. Merde! But, we got there and back safe and sound thanks to Shea's ability to drive like a Frenchman.

I always knew Shea had the heart of a crazy Frenchman!
